Sadly, a big part of what makes Christian education affordable for Christian families is the significant cut in pay most Christian school teachers have given up for the sake of their calling (versus working in a public school or for-profit business). We can no longer balance the budget of the school on the backs of our beloved staff.
Christian school teachers are severely overworked and underpaid, making often only half or even a quarter of what their public school counterparts receive incompensation. But our teachers are here because they believe so strongly in the mission and vision of Cornerstone.
Cornerstone’s Teacher Endowment fund is a way for us to begin to mend this gap and make sure our teachers are being paid the money they need to live reasonably in our struggling economy.
Help us pay our teachers what they’re really worth. A workman is worthy of his hire. Our goal is to raise $30,000 -$100,000 per year for this part of our annual fund.
